Multi-Tenant ERP System Architecture
CGAT designed and developed HERP, a custom multi-tenant ERP architecture using PHP, MySQL, tenant-isolated databases, modular permissions, localization, and Linux-based deployment infrastructure.
Initial situation
CGAT designed and developed HERP, a custom multi-tenant ERP architecture using PHP, MySQL, tenant-isolated databases, modular permissions, localization, and Linux-based deployment infrastructure.
Business problem
HERP is a custom ERP system designed to support multiple companies in a tenant-isolated architecture. Each tenant can operate with its own dedicated database and filesystem structure, allowing business data, files, users, and modules to remain separated while still being managed from a centralized platform. CGAT designed the technical architecture of the system around modular business functionality, role-based access control, localization, tenant provisioning, and scalable Linux-based deployment. The platform includes concepts such as module hierarchies, granular permissions, multi-language translation management, asset inventory, document registry, and tenant-specific configuration. The infrastructure is designed for PHP-FPM, Nginx, Percona/MySQL, and release-based deployment with shared storage and symlinked application releases. This case study demonstrates CGATβs ability to design long-term enterprise systems with maintainability, tenant isolation, operational control, and future scalability in mind.
